Doubtful. If think we knew in 2022 that the eight players who were eventually drafted were doing a lot of heavy lifting for TCU football. We learned in 2023 that they were pretty much carrying the whole thing. Georgia or Bama have enough blue-chip recruits to fall from the top of their development cycle to a 10-2 "down year". We don't.

Would winning a natty have changed things four years from now? That's more likely.

Just as the 12-team playoff evolved over a short period of time (calendar-wise after TCU made the four-team field), I'm sure (let me adjust this Alcoa hat for more clairvoyance) a two-tiered design would have been created and approved for 2024 season which would have relegated non-state schools to a secondary playoff tournament....TCU would perhaps then be a perennial competitor for a Power 4 Division II (similar to UIL's two tiers in the enrollment classifications) championship....After all, gotta protect the Blue Bloods from socialistic share-the-wealth everyone-a-winner here's-your-ribbon upstart schools....

How would winning a MNC have effected 2023?

* My home would be full of TCU MNC merch. I mean FULL.

* As a direct result of #1, my bank account would have been a few $K lighter.

* There’d be a very nice “2023” alongside “1938” inside ACS.

Oh, you mean the onfield 2023 TCU football season. Probably not much. Maybe we get an extra recruit or two, or a transfer or two.

I'd say even if we kept the game close and lost by a field goal, that would've greatly improved the perception of TCU.

The fact that we got blown out diminished a lot of the goodwill we gained from beating Michigan.

Unless you assume all those additional players were draft eligible or Seniors, we would have had more talent returning, which likely would have resulted in a better team in 2023. Hence better results.

Yes. I would’ve missed every game because I would’ve drank so much and swam into the Pacific Ocean the night of Jan 9 2023, knowing the world would never be better!

In my opinion, our not having Kendre Miller made us a far different and not as good of a team. Against Michigan, we ran the ball extremely well (268 yards). I'm far from saying we would have beaten Georgia with Kendre, but good chance we would have competed far better than we did.

Coaches also messed up thinking Kirby Smart wasn't going to adjust his gameplan to counter what we put on tape. That was a huge discrepancy I noticed between their postgame interviews.

Sonny Dykes admitted they didn't change much before the game because they were confident in their plan all season.

In hindsight, looks like we emptied the bag vs Michigan and didn't have anything left for Georgia. The quick turnaround between the semis & finals, plus all the distractions during the week was brand new for us. Maybe we got a little lost in the bright lights.

Georgia got a scare vs Ohio St. and made adjustments, which we didn't have an answer for.

i don’t think you can prepare for Ga in 1 week. If we would have had 2 weeks after Fiesta bowl it probably would have been a much better game. OSU had a month to prep like we had a month to prep for Michigan. SEC teams prep all year to play UGA and BAMA.

• Gotten a TCU tattoo.
• Might have drunkenly knocked up the wife in the Orange County Hotel that night. We of course would have named him Max Quentin if it was a boy.

As I stated above - if we had an extra week between Michigan and UGA it would have been a better game for us.
