Waco Tribune-Herald: Bears rule out QB Stidham for last 2 regular season games

For the second time this year, Baylor has lost a quarterback to injury.
 
True freshman Jarrett Stidham will miss the last two games of the regular season after an MRI revealed a chipped bone in the back of his right ankle.
 
Stidham, who played in all 10 games for Baylor this season and started the last three, left Saturday’s game against Oklahoma State. Redshirt sophomore Chris Johnson took over at the helm of the offense and threw for 138 yards and touchdowns of 39 yards to Jay Lee and 71 yards to KD Cannon to help the Bears extend to a 38-14 lead and eventually take the 45-35 victory in Stillwater, Okla.
 
“That’s kind of what we expected. We were just waiting for verification. It’s part of the game,” Baylor coach Art Briles said. “(Stidham) played his tail off for us, and Seth, him and Chris all got us to this point. Now it’s our job to finish it as a team. We certainly have worlds of confidence in Chris and what he can do, and we’re anxious to put him on the field and let him showcase his inspirational talent level.” ...
