UNC fires Butch Davis

Maybe UNC is hoping for the Tressel/tOSU model, where they throw the coach under the bus (and both coaches likely deserve to be fired) and hope that the NCAA will forget everyone else involved with their program that was misbehaving.

although some idiotic, desperate Athletic Director will justify Butch Davis horrible track record in a year or two and we will see him on the sidelines again.

Butch Davis single-handedly put the Browns franchise back about 5 years.

Yeah, very strange timing, but like the article said, Davis was doing a number on the school's reputation. He needed to go. The ACC will be right again with the only good teams being Va Tech and Florida State.
