MANHATTAN — If there was one position group set in stone to perform at a high level for Kansas State, it was the offensive line. The Wildcats entered the season with all five starters plus the top reserve returning.
 
As early as spring ball, however, coach Bill Snyder waved a cautionary flag. He was worried about complacency and, sure enough, the line struggled early in the season.
 
Now, the tide has turned. The unit has come on strong the last four games, turning in its best effort last week when K-State rushed for 291 yards in a 49-26 victory at Texas Tech. Snyder said the improvement has been more mental than technique-based.
 
“Coach (Charlie) Dickey is a very sound, fundamental football coach and they’ve been ingrained in fundamentals through the entirety of their time here,” Snyder said Tuesday. “I think it’s the mental approach we’ve addressed before of taking their performance level for granted in the early stage of the season. They realized over a period of time that it takes more than just the experience to have the kind of success they needed to have.” ...
