Apart from any other considerations in the Big 12 like beating Oklahoma more consistently or avoiding losses to programs like Texas Tech, it’s clear that Texas won’t be a contender at the conference or national level without beating TCU more frequently than once in six years.

UT should be a more competitive program under Herman but honestly TCU's current challenge is on finding ways to consistently beat OU and OSU. TCU is starting to get more of the guys they want in recruiting so it will come down to player development, coaching and a little luck. I could see the Big12 have a near future where all these teams end up rotating who wins the conference each year. Probably is harder to dominate the conference than in years past at this point in time.
