interesting blog.....about how each conf candidates line up.

Apparently they do not hold the Big East in high regard. They see a decimated ACC still having the ability to simply "absorb the Big East current 8 football schools." As you read the different projections the blog seems ACC-centric. Maybe ACC guys created the blog.

"It's possible that both the Big Ten and SEC could combine to raid the ACC. The Big Ten could try to add Maryland and Georgia Tech (along with Notre Dame and Missouri), and the SEC could try to add Florida State, Miami, and Clemson. If that were to actually happen, then the ACC would be down to just 7 teams and need to add a whopping 9 more to become a 16-team superconference.
It's doubtful that the ACC would venture out west to add a bunch of schools, although that would be an option. More likely would be that they would absorb the Big East's current 8 football schools. Although TCU, who hasn't yet joined the Big East for football, could also be an option."

Tech would only get a Pac-12 invite if required to get Texas. Otherwise, it is worth less than Baylor to the Pac-12, given its weak market, weak academics, and weak history.

For the Pac-12, OU is the prize now that Texas is out. And OU comes with Okie State.

The biggest problem for TCU with regards to the Pac-12 is the name "Texas Christian University" --- Yes, TCU is almost as secular today as USC (which began as a Methodist institution) and nowhere as religious as Baylor or BYU, but try telling that to Stanford, UCLA, and Cal....

So, ranking the candidates:

1. OU
2. Okie State
3. KU

After that:
4. TCU -- -best market, best football credibility, most compatible with the Pac-12 culture, Rose Bowl!!!! or
5. K St. --- may be tied to KU; academically average, middle of nowhere,

You can't put K-State at 5 and put "academically average, middle of nowhere" and not put Tech as #5 as well. Tech has as good of a shot as Kansas or K-State. If the Pac-12 lowers their academic standards, they'll go with the Kansas schools. But if they keep their standards, they'll at least look at TCU and Tech. Tech's reputation academically may not be superior, but it can hold its own against Washington State, Oregon State and Arizona State.

It all depends on if they want the package deal. In other words, they won't go with Kansas and TCU. Or Tech and Kansas. They will either take 2 Texas schools or 2 Kansas schools. That's how they like to arrange their conference for travel purposes.

Our only chance to make the PAC conference is that OU and OSU are taken by the SEC. THis was discussed a little over a year ago so not out of the realm of possibility.

K State is above Texas Tech because K St might get to ride on the coat tails of KU. Tech has nothing.... but Texas politicians, like Baylor. With A&M gone, Tech and Baylor only have the graces of the Longhorns to maintain their BCS status....

PAC wants to be in Texas. If they go to 16 (dont think they will) OU and OSU will be a package deal, then to get into Texas it's two out of Tech, Baylor and TCU. Aggy to SEC, UT network eliminates them.

They do want to be in Texas, but only if one of the schools is Texas.
