Sure, we did better statistically. We outgained them in yardage. Awesome. But that does not constitute beating them. It means that things went wrong somewhere down the line in that game (aka turnovers, dropped passes, etc.)

You are kind of taking the quote out of context. It was in relation to a prediction I made and my lack of specificity allowed me an out.
