Given the choice, TCU’s Gary Patterson likely would rather be coaching in a league where defense wasn’t a weekly afterthought.
But the Big 12 Conference is what it is.
Sound the Air Raid sirens. Defensive coaches, please don’t look directly at the scoreboard without protective eyewear.
There had to be a better road to success in the Big 12 than the fast lane, Patterson decided, maybe sometime in the second half of that 2014 Baylor game.
