AIR FORCE: The Falcons saw their three-game win streak and place among the nationally-ranked come to an end this weekend as the academy bowed to San Diego State on the road, 27-25. Quarterback Tim Jefferson converted 13-of-30 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown, while the running game for Air Force generated a hefty 312 yards and two scores on 62 attempts, but it still wasn't enough to get the team back into contention against SDSU at Qualcomm Stadium. Air Force controlled the ball for more than 35 minutes and ran 34 more plays than the Aztecs, but that just goes to show how some stats can be deceiving. The Falcons play the second of back-to-back road games this weekend as they head to Fort Worth, Texas to confront the TCU Horned Frogs. The academy almost pulled off the upset last season versus TCU, but the Falcons had to settle for the 20-17 loss at home, which means they now trail in the all-time series by a count of 6-2-1. ...

TCU, which has won seven in a row this year and is ranked fourth in the current AP poll, was paced by Andy Dalton who handled most of the offense for the squad with his 273 yards and four touchdowns on 24-of-36 passes. Josh Boyce stepped up and collected eight passes for 127 yards and a pair of scores as the TCU rushing attack had its weakest effort of the season by far with just 108 yards on 38 attempts. Defensively, the Frogs held BYU to just 147 yards of offense, which means TCU is now ranked second in the entire nation in that category with a mere 218.3 ypg allowed. The Horned Frogs complete their three-game home stand this coming weekend when they welcome the Air Force Falcons for a Mountain West battle in Fort Worth. Air Force, which lost by a mere three points last season, 20-17, still trails in the all-time series to the Frogs, rated fifth in the first BCS rankings of 2010, who are ahead by a count of 6-2-1. ...
