SportDFW: TCU Baseball Weekend Recap and Tuesday Preview

The TCU baseball team (15-8) will host Stephen F. Austin (18-7) Tuesday night at Lupton Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. We’ll preview that, but first let’s recap some highlights from the Frogs’ series win over Houston this past weekend.
* If Friday night’s 7-6 loss to Houston after being up 6-0 wasn’t the low point of the season for TCU, being down 9-2 to the Cougars in the fifth inning Saturday afternoon sure was. It was a rough six innings for the Frogs- the ninth on Friday and the first five Saturday. TCU was outscored 15-2 to and committed four errors in that stretch losing one game because of it and ending up on the verge of losing another. But then it clicked and the Frogs scored 14 runs in 4 innings to beat the Cougars 16-10 Saturday and win Sunday, 9-1, to take the series. Coach Jim Schlossnagle talks all the time about how every team and season has a story. If TCU makes it back to Omaha in June, Schlossnagle and his players will look back and know Saturday’s rally was the key chapter. ...
