Sport DFW: Purke Will Lead TCU Baseball to Win Over New Mexico Lobos

With Matt Purke back on the hill for TCU, the Horned Frogs have a lot to look forward to- including what should be a win in their first game of the Mountain West Conference.
After losing a few weeks to shoulder stiffness, Purke made a comeback against the New Mexico Lobos, coincidentally TCU’s first opponent, throwing three innings while striking out four and allowing only one hit. He is expected to start today’s game against UNM again, meaning that Purke should be back to his old ways, dominating hitters and preventing rallies.
Granted, he’ll have significant rust to break off and will probably be on a limited pitch count, but the point is that Purke will be back and working his way towards pitching in a regional. ...
