Shreveport Times: La. Tech squashing the injury bug

"M*A*S*H" star Harry Morgan may have recently passed from us but the Louisiana Tech training staff could have used some expertise from the late star's mobile army surgical hospital during the 2011 football season.
Beset with an inordinate number of injuries to key players, the Bulldogs survived to end the season on a seven-game win streak, capture the WAC title and advance to Wednesday's San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego.
But coach Sonny Dykes and company were forced to reach deep into their depth chart to field a competitive squad, especially at running back, where not one, not two, but three backs were lost for the season. That leaves Dykes with freshman walk-on Hunter Lee, former Captain Shreve standout Rickey Courtney, a former Northwestern State walk-on, and 2010 redshirt Tyrone Duplessis in the backfield to test the rush defense of No. 16 TCU. The latter two have rushed 11 times for 2 yards this fall. ...
