Giants sputter again, making Alex Young’s big-league debut a happy occasion for Diamondbacks

Rookie Tyler Beede has a good memory. He should. He’s 26.
Asked if he ever ran across a lefty in the Diamondbacks system named Alex Young, Beede quickly recalled that in 2015, the year after he left Vanderbilt, the Commodores beat Young and TCU 1-0 in a College World Series game.
“They calling him up?” Beede wondered. Yeah. they called him up, just in time to beat Beede and the Giants 5-1 on Thursday night.
