Why would UT and OU give a damn about a little private school coming in. They both are going to have their regional networks and tilt the field.

Consider also the recruiting exposure Big 12 teams would gain by playing games

in the Metroplex. An advantage currently enjoyed by only Texas and Oklahoma.

At this point, I think TCU is better off hoping the Big 12 invites BYU. There is a small chance the SEC might come calling to get to 14 ala Utah managing to get into the PAC last year. That's the best case scenario, but if not at least we don't have to endure being in the insanity known as the Big 12. At first I was all for moving to the Big 12 if invited, but the conference is cancerous and greedy. UT is showing all its true colors, and they are hideous.
