SA Express-News: Rice caps College Classic with rout of TCU
Rice closed out the three-day Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic far better than it started. In the final game of the invitational, the Owls put on a hitting display in a decisive 12-2 rout of TCU. The game was stopped after 6 ½ innings due to the 10-run rule.
Dominic DiCaprio collected three hits to pace an 11-hit attack. The Owls even scored without hits, scoring three runs in the second with the bases loaded on a hit by pitch, walk and sacrifice fly.
"It was fun to watch," first-year Owls coach Matt Bragga said. "We needed an offensive outing like that. It was up and down the lineup, quality at-bat after quality at-bat."
