Rushed SEC Expansion Doesn’t Change the Equation for Arkansas as a Big Loser

Not entirely right. Arkansas lack of access to Texas exposure caused them to be terrible since leaving the SWC. When the stupid Aggies let them back in, they improved. Now they are back in a market they needed to improve.

Arkansas was a decent program for a while under Nutt and Petrino, won the SEC West a couple of times and had 10 wins and 11 wins back to back in 2010-11. After Petrino’s wreck is when things took a horrible turn. Bielema in 2013 finishing last in the division was the first time that had ever happened for Arkansas and then Chad Morris drove it into the ground even deeper. It’ll probably always be a program that will average between 6-8 wins though.

Well, you were on the right track! The overwhelming majority of Arkansas' championships were concentrated in essentially one Olympic (summer) sport . . . Track! The SEC sponsors conference championships in Cross Country (M&W), Indoor Track and Field (M&W), and Outdoor Track and Field (M&W), and over the past 10 years, Arkansas has won about 45 of their 52 total championships in one of those three! The rest were in other minor sports like Golf and Tennis, with only two* (baseball last year, both Regular Season and Tournament) in the Big Three!
* Well four if you want to count Women's softball last year as one of the "Big Three".

I’m telling you this is pretty impressive. Don’t like em but they are doing pretty good in the sec.
