Richmond Times-Dispatch: U.Va. falls to TCU in Paradise Jam

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands -- For a split second Friday, it seemed as if Virginia basketball fans might have one of those endings they would remember forever. The kind of ending that would make their opponent sick to their stomach. An ending that would take away some of the sting from last season's meltdown against Miami in the ACC tournament.
But Joe Harris' game-winning 3-point attempt bounced off the front rim and Virginia couldn't get off another shot before time expired.
TCU, riding the strong play of former Virginia Tech guard Hank Thorns, defeated U.Va. 57-55 in the Paradise Jam.
"It (was) intense out there and I thought some guys got discouraged too easily, if it was a missed free throw, a turnover or we got back-doored a few times," said Virginia coach Tony Bennett. "It was a hard-fought game. It was tournament ball and we didn't play well enough to get that one, for sure." ...
