It's okay to have a few brain farts and let two teams you're playing better than come back and win, but let's make sure we take these things out of the playbook:
1. Shovel pass play. It is so easy to diagnose as Robinson is running straight to his left with no option other than to flip it to the RB. It worked once...and will NEVER WORK AGAIN. Let's dump this play...and after the Ohio State game, I thought this was a given. Apparently not.
2. Going to extreme conservatism after getting a three point lead. It allows the other teams to stay in the game, and eventually wears down our defense. Win by one is fine, but if you let the other team hang around, you're going to lose by 7...or 15.
3. QB sneak after getting down to the 1 yd line. We lose a yard on this play every time. I'm okay with running to the line and doing a quick running play...but lining up under center with only one play in your arsenal is just as much of a tell as the stupid shovel pass play.
4. No more punting when you need two scores and under 4 minutes to play. Our defensive stats just don't matter...at all.
