New Haven Register: TCU’s Kirkpatrick has full itinerary

NEW HAVEN — This is a busy time of year for the most talented college football players. There are awards shows and events, bowl games, all-star games, decisions for the future, and training for the combine in preparation of the draft.
But Texas Christian senior center Jake Kirkpatrick has them all beat.
He flew into New Haven Thursday for Walter Camp weekend, then left late Friday night for the Rimington Trophy presentation in Lincoln, Neb.
Then he’s heading back home to Tyler, Texas, this morning to be with his wife of almost two years, Callie. The couple is expecting their first child, a daughter, “any day.”
“I hope she can hold off until I get back home (this) morning,” Kirkpatrick said. ...
