I am sooooo old that I can remember when all us 7th-8th graders HAD to have the day-glo socks like that. Also came in a sort of red-orange shade, but the chartreuse was the best. I'm talking circa 1949 or so. How would you like to see a game played on Boise's blue field (or E. Washington's red field) with a team wearing those socks?

Your thread title is hilarious. That's exactly what I said to my son, before I saw your post. I followed it up with "my eyes are bleeding." May we never wear fluorescent purple socks because Phil Knight asks us to!

My 15 -year old daughter says she loves the socks. She thinks they're really cool. I guess that's the demographic they're going for . . .

LOVE the Oregon helmets. Make them purple and they'd be a perfect reptilian helmet for us.
