ULM put a first-half scare into No. 23 Texas Christian, but the Warhawks' bid for their first-ever win over a ranked team was smothered early in the second half.After leading by four at halftime, TCU scored two touchdowns in the first four minutes of the second half to break away for a 38-17 win.
The Horned Frogs extended a 21-17 halftime lead when Greg McCoy returned the opening kickoff 94 yards.
ULM's Jyruss Edwards fumbled on ULM's first possession of the second half, and TCU's Matthew Tucker cashed in with a one-yard touchdown as the Frogs led 35-17.
"It was terrible," said receiver Brent Leonard of the momentum shift started by McCoy's kickoff return. "That special teams play and that fumble really kind of killed us, and it was hard to come back from it." ...
