So, assuming NM holds on to their one point lead against UNLV this afternoon, we need to sweep SDSU to ensure a conference regular season championship, because AFA is in NM next weekend for 3, No?

If we do that, are we in to the NCAA tournament field of 64 regardless of what happens in teh conference tournament?

Just like in most any other college sport, the conference tourney champion is the automatic qualifier!!

And, they are called runs in baseball!!

36 wins would be a hell of a way finish to the regular season considering 21 games ago we were 14-13. Going 18-3 helps.....

Gotta win the tourney to ensure the autobid. Winning regular season probably helps but not a lock. We do get #1 seed in conference tourney if we win regular season. This would be nice as we could face UNLV while they play SDSU. This year 4 teams will make tournament and it will follow same double elimination format as a regional. Again the secret is simple, stay in the winners bracket.

Still unclear what happens re seeding if we finish tied w/ UNM Sunday. We need to sweep Aztecs, and beat OU for good measure.

We are 12 wins from Omaha.

Theoretically, we could have as few as 4 wins and still end up in Omaha--if so amd so above is correct that the bubble is bad and therefore we are already assured of a spot in a regional, then we could win, what, maybe 3 games in regional and 2 in super regional and we are in Omaha?

Heck, could we even have a loosing record and still get to Omaha? Could we be outscored vis a vis our opponents who get more points than us between now and then and still go to Omaha?

Steel thinks you numbers guys will enjoy cracking his nuts.
