Guardian, I ran across this on Espn. I haven't seen much on this recruit lately.
Romar after another big man?
9:26
AM ETWashington Huskies TopEmailCommentsWashington is in on a number of forwards -- Richard Peters, Wally Judge and God's Gift Achiuwa -- but with no guarantee to land them Husky coach Lorenzo Romar appears to have expanded his list to include another: Jamaican big man Vashill Fernandez (Bowie, Md./Princeton Day Academy).
According to Percy Allen of the Seattle Times, the 6-foot-11, 225-pound big man visited Washington over the weekend. Allen adds that Fernandez is also being recruited by Florida State, Penn State, East Carolina and TCU.
When you consider that Peters may have to reclassify to the 2012 recruiting class (pending his ACT score) and Judge will have to sit out next season per NCAA transfer rules, it could make Fernandez and Achiuwa -- who both can play in 2011-12 -- the highest priorities for Romar and the Huskies among the four recruits.
Here's Adam Finkelstein of ESPN Recruiting with more on Fernandez's game, and what he brings to the table.

Fernandez's recruiting heating up
"Princeton Day Academy head coach Chris Chaney knows a thing or two about developing big men and he believes current post graduate Vashill Fernandez, a 6-foot-11, 225-pound big man who came from Jamaica after finishing high school last year, has a very bright future... Fernandez's most immediate impact upon reaching the next level will likely be on the defensive end while his offense continues to come along."
