Judge rules with NFLPA

judge just stuck a real big monkey wrench into the owners plan of attack. They assumed they could lock out the players and get them to crawl back after a lengthy lockout period and take their deal. players assoc one up them, decertified and filed an anti-trust countersuit. Now the owners are forced into a legal corner of having to argue that its better for the (consevative leaning) appellate court to rule in favor of forcing the players to act as a union. Don't think in this political climate, you'll EVER get a conservative to side with anything that smells like a stronger union right now.

So I think this is the end of the lockout. Now the smaller market teams will start freaking out, worried about being absorbed and will force the large market owners to take a deal that improves the players financial position, but maintains the profit sharing model of the league.

Ol Jerry has to be just livid. He and Roger thought they had the players right where they wanted them.... Ooops.
