In the next couple of years a book is going to be written on the great college athletic realignment of the past decade.

Who will write it?

Too bad Mario Puzo died in 1999.

Only the author of “The Godfather” could capture the back-room dealing, back-stabbing, naked ambition and greed that is going on in college sports today.

With the Big East football conference in tatters, the league’s football schools’ presidents and athletic directors met at the Grand Hyatt in New York City on Tuesday.
