Saw this obit in the Startelgram this morning. Is this our Ray McCown, who was so good with the Frogs back about 1951?

His TCU story is just remarkable. In "51, Ray was listed as 3rd. string qb, but when pre-season A-A Gil Bartosh went down with a knee injury, Dutch moved him to starter. Meyer liked McKowns grit and determination-- in spite of wobbly passes and end-over-end punts.
Well, all Ray did was run like a bull, lead the Frogs to SWC champs and a Cotton Bowl berth.
Oh yes, he is one of our 40 first team All- Americans ( 50 selections from the 40).
RIP, Mr. McKown, you were a favorite with me.
