Jamie Dixon Continues to Revamp Winning Culture at TCU​

FORT WORTH, Texas — Jamie Dixon’s time at TCU can be summed up in one incredibly succinct fact.

Dixon is in his eighth year as head coach. As a program, the Horned Frogs have won 36 games over AP Top 25 teams.

Dixon has led the Horned Frogs (13-3, 2-1) to 21 of those wins. No. 21 was on Saturday when the Horned Frogs beat the No. 2 Houston Cougars, 68-67.

Saturday’s game was the end of a three-game stretch against ranked teams. Scratch that — it was the end of a three-game stretch against Top 10 teams. The Horned Frogs went 2-1, and were, potentially, one foul away from being 3-0.

We deserve some serious recognition for this week of play. We’re all saying it, but TCU should be 3-0 in big 12 play having beaten #2, #9 and #2. Frustrating no one is paying attention.

Dixon’s renaissance into a fast breaking offense should be quite the story too. He decided I am going to commit to this after years of slow down ball and it is paying off. I love going back and watching old UNLV and Loyola Marymount games and always wonder why a doesn’t a coach commit to this. It would still work today.

Given the non-conference schedule, it’s also the first teams with a pulse they’ve beaten. Keep winning in the Big XII and the ranking will take care of itself.

We had so many new faces, I think Jamie didn't want a killer schedule until he got to conference play. This gave him plenty of time to play everyone and see who which 5 to start and which ones to sub with.

...and a statue? I can think of several CFB coaches that tell me that's not a good idea. Just pay him a great salary and a pay bump every year and he'll have more money than he'll ever need.
