LEE'S THOUGHTS
"The women played really well today," said head coach Lee Taylor Walker. "It was a tough match; Kansas State is a good team with a lot of good players. They have beat some good teams this year and lost in some close matches against some great teams."
"We knew it was going to be tough and the Frogs responded. Our women were very mentally tough today. Our doubles have gotten so much better, and we are playing with a lot of confidence. I though Destinee was very tough after not being able to play Friday night. Isabel showed the most toughness I have seen from her in her entire career today. Yu-Chin was serving bombs and just slammed the door at the end on court four."
"We know we are about to get into some tough matches and we are excited to be back home on Friday. We need as many people as we can to come out and support us this Friday. Go Frogs!"
THE RUNDOWN
The Horned Frogs secured the doubles point by way of wins on courts one and two. Yu-Chin Tsai and Chiho Mushika took care of their opponent 6-2 to move to 4-1 in conference play. Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual won their fifth conference match as a pair 6-4 on court two to clinch the point.
In singles action Destinee Martins earned her third win in Big 12 play taking down Veronika Kulhava in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. No. 105 Vanesa Suarez earned the only point for the Wildcats on court one 6-2, 7-5.
Pascual put on a gutsy performance on winning on court two in straight sets 6-1, 7-5. The senior is now 4-1 in conference play and 7-5 overall this season. Tsai clinched the match for the Horned Frogs on court four taking down Manami Ukita 6-2, 6-2.
