GoFrogs: Women’s Swim and Dive Takes Down Iowa State

Ames, Iowa – The TCU women's swimming and diving team defeated Iowa State 162-138 on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Beyer Pool in second conference win of the season.

The Horned Frogs tallied a total of 10 gold, eight silver and eight bronze medals.

IN THE POOL
The meet began with a Frog win in the 200 Medley Relay when Rylee Moore, Nina Vadovicova, Jeanne Dahmen and Olivia Rhodes swam a time of 1:44.81.

Jordan Edwards earned her first win of the season in the 1000 Freestyle swimming to a time of 10:22.39. Mikayla Popham followed her in the 200 Freestyle adding nine point for the Frogs touching the wall at 1:53.00.

Tania Quaglieri had a career day winning all three individual events that she swam in. The graduate student was victorious in the 100 Back touching the wall at 55.06. She went on to win the 200 Back with a time of 2:02.37 and the 100 Fly 55.91.

Claire Chahbandour earned the gold medal in the 100 Breaststroke touching the wall at 1:04.28. Rhodes was the 50 Free champion with a time of 23.59. Giorgia Vavalle won the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:21.99 to add the last nine points on the board for the Frogs.

ON THE BOARDS
Emma Lacarda Herrera earned her first win as a Horned Frog in the 3-meter diving event. She scored a career high and earned an NCAA zone cut with a score of 311.85.

Lauren Cey earned the silver medal on the 3-meter with a score of 306.75.

UP NEXT
The Horned Frogs will head South to Austin, Texas for the Sterkel Classic hosted by the University of Texas on Feb. 2-3.
