GoFrogs: Wolfe Named Big 12 Player of the Week
FORT WORTH – TCU baseball senior Hunter Wolfe was named the Big 12 Hitter of the Week for his efforts in helping TCU to a sweep of No. 12 Oklahoma State. The honor is the first of his career and the fifth for the Horned Frogs this season.
Wolfe hit .500 (7-of-14) in the sweep of Oklahoma State. The senior had two hits and scored two runs in the series opener against the Cowboys. He was instrumental in TCU's walk-off win Saturday, as he tied the game twice with hits, made it a 2-2 game with a double in the fourth and scored to make it a 3-2 game. In the sixth, he doubled and scored to bring the Frogs within one, 6-5. An inning later, Wolfe hit a game-tying two-run home run in the seventh and he capped the day with a walk-off single in the ninth. In Sunday's win, he registered an RBI single in the decisive eighth inning.
Krob was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on March 29 and the Pitcher of the Week on Aprril 6. Additionally, Luke Boyers earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors on March 1.
TCU is 26-9 overall this season and is tied with Texas atop the Big 12 standings with a 10-2 record. The Horned Frogs are ranked as high as No. 5 in the national polls. TCU continues an eight game homestand on Tuesday night when it hosts UT Arlington at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
