FORT WORTH, Texas -- The No. 19 TCU women's tennis team notched its fourth straight shutout of the season Friday night with a 4-0 Big 12 Conference victory over Iowa State at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

With the win, the Frogs improve to 15-7 overall and 5-2 in conference action, while the Cyclones fall to 7-12 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

The win was also the Frogs' eighth shutout of the season.

"The main thing we're talking about is not just winning the matches, but winning in a way that we can easily repeat it the next time," head coach Lee Taylor Walker said. "If you randomly win the match but you don't know how you did it, it's hard to come back and repeat it."

The Frogs will look to repeat the effort Sunday when they host West Virginia at 1 p.m. in another Big 12 Conference contest.

"I feel like we have an understanding of the level (of play) it's going to be like," Walker said. "Again, it's more about us being sharp and not sloppy."

The duo of Palina Dubavets and Alexis Pereira picked up their fourth consecutive win by beating Alejandra Galvis and Caroline Andersen in third doubles, while Stefanie Tan and Simona Parajova beat Samantha Budai and Ksenia Pronina, 6-2, in first doubles to wrap up the point for the Frogs.

The solid play continued in singles as No. 113 Tan beat Budai 6-2, 6-2; Pereira defeated Natalie Phippen, 6-2, 6-3; and Seda Arantekin beat Ana Gasparovic, 6-2, 6-0.

"We're trying to get everything going before the conference championships so we don't have any weak links on the court," Walker said. "We want to feel like in all nine matches we have a confident chance of winning, and I think we are close to that."
