FORT WORTH, Texas - The seventh consecutive sold-out crowd of the season was in the University Recreation Center on Wednesday night, as the TCU volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-13, 26-24, 25-18) victory over Texas Tech for the team's program-best eighth win in league action this season.

In front of the second largest crowd in program history of 2,275 fans, the Horned Frogs (18-8, 8-6 Big 12) recorded their 12th sweep this season and its second series sweep of conference action with the win over the Red Raiders (14-14, 3-11 Big 12).

Quotes of the Match
Director of Volleyball Jill Kramer
Opening Statement
"First and foremost, I would like to thank our crowd and our marketing department. The atmosphere that they have created this year has been outstanding and our crown has been so into it every match. They are such a huge help and their support has been wonderful for us. Selling out every single conference match is a pretty cool deal. We have one more to go and we want to pack it again and go 100 percent sellouts for conference.

"Secondly, I really loved how our team stepped up and battled tonight. Once Texas Tech got used to the environment, they competed really hard and did some really nice things. There have been some things we have been working on in practice that we really needed to improve upon and you could see that show tonight. The girls effort in practice has been outstanding and it paid off for them tonight for sure."

Ladies played great last night. Like the way they weathered the storm in the second game (set). I thought I heard that TCU needs to win last three matches to make NCAA tourney (now 2). Anyone here know if that is correct? Does the tournament take top four teams in each conference? How do they know TCU needs to win out to get in? Would appreciate an explanation.

Works like basketball, 64 team field with conference champs getting the auto bid and then at-large selections.

Our last 3 matches (including last night) are Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and West Virginia. Those three are the bottom 3 teams in the Big 12, thus maybe why some people might say we have to win all 3.

On Monday we were 38th in the RPI...I am not familiar enough to know what type of RPI at large teams typically have but I'm guessing there are some very low ranked RPI teams that will win their leagues and take autobids (more so than even basketball).
