GoFrogs: Volleyball Upends Hatters to End Time in Florida
MIAMI, Fla. – The No. 20 TCU beach volleyball team earned their highest ranked win of the season by topping No. 10 Stetson, 3-2, to end the Surf-N-Turf Invitational on Saturday at Lummus Beach Park on South Beach in Miami, Fla.

The Horned Frogs (12-12, 2-4 CCSA) began the second day of competition by facing the No. 10 Hatters (16-8). Taylor Bradley and Molly Scheel set the tone early by dispatching their opponents on court three quickly in a 21-14, 21-14 win. However, the Frogs lost on courts one and two to fall behind 2-1. Comeback efforts by the Frogs were underway on courts four and five, as both pairs forced a third set with the match on the line. Jaelyn Greene and Caroline White won on court four, quickly followed by a victory on court five by Avery Arellano and Hailey Brockett to propel the Frogs over Stetson.

The next match on deck for TCU was against conference opponent Tulane (15-11, 6-9). Arellano and Brockett picked up the first win by beating the Green Waves' Morgan Esters and Kilani Daane, 21-15, 21-11. Claire Doyle and Jensyn Bledsoe followed and put the Frogs up 2-1 by winning on court three. Tulane did not give up and tied the match at 2-2 with a win on court two. The match came down to court one, but Mandi Orellana and Haven Hill were unable to thwart the comeback effort by Kaylie McHugh and Eva Torruella. The Tulane pair won 18-21, 21-18, 15-6 to give the Green Wave a 3-2 win.

Quotes from the Weekend
Head Coach Hector Gutierrez
"Overall, it was a great weekend and the girls showed quality in all of our matches. We couldn't finish the weekend the way we wanted. After two great wins against quality teams, we didn't jump on the court with the concentration needed to beat a team like Tulane. They played better than us and they deserved the win. Hopefully we learned our lesson and are more focused for the final stretch of the season."

Up Next
The Horned Frogs travel to Baton Rouge, La., to compete at the LSU Beach Invitational from April 6-7. The Frogs will face Texas A&M-Kingsville, No. 11 South Carolina and No. 4 LSU.
