GoFrogs: TCU Tops Texas A&M in Exhibition

FORT WORTH, Texas -- A five-set victory over Texas A&M in an exhibition match on Saturday afternoon marked the end of the 2018 preseason training for the TCU volleyball team inside Reed Arena in College Station, Texas.

The Horned Frogs had to overcome a slow start in the opening set and rallied to take the next two sets behind the hot hitting of freshman élan McCall and senior Anna Walsh. The Aggies responded by taking the fourth set to force the decisive fifth set where TCU put down eight kills and a .353 hitting clip to go along with two service aces to take the victory in the final tune-up before the season officially kicks-off next week.

McCall led TCU with 19 kills, a .356 hitting clip and seven digs in the match, while Walsh was good for 14 kills and a team-best 3.0 blocks. Abigail Buckingham joined the double-digit club with 13 kills against the Aggies with Lexi MacLean leading the defensive efforts with 10 digs. As a team, the Frogs were able to put down 57 kills in the match, while also serving up 10 aces.
