GoFrogs: Volleyball Scores Win No. 10 over Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. (September 29, 2018) – A strong offensive performance along with six team service aces led the TCU volleyball team to win No. 10 this season as the Horned Frogs scored a 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-12, 25-22) victory over Kansas State on Saturday night inside Ahearn Field House in Manhattan, Kan.

The Frogs (10-4, 2-1 Big 12) took the first point and never looked back in the opening set against the Wildcats (10-5, 0-4 Big 12) as they capped off the 25-22 victory with a kill from Lexi MacLean. TCU struggled in the second set, as Kansas State was able to steal it but the Frogs did not stay down for long. élan McCall and Anna Walsh helped TCU take back control the final two sets as the duo combined for 18 kills to help the Frogs win the match in four

McCall continued her dominance on offense with 21 kills in the match to lead TCU with Walsh chipping in 16 kills. Katie Clark was able to put down nine kills for the Frogs with Sarah Swanson also contributing with eight kills. McCall scored double-double No. 8 and her fourth straight with 13 digs while MacLean led the team with 17 digs and Berklie Baker finished with 10 digs.

4 – TCU's winning streak against Kansas State is now up to four after the win on Saturday night. The Frogs have now won two straight in Manhattan and the team improves to 5-2 against the Wildcats under the leadership of Kramer.

-The Frogs get win No. 6 in the all-time series record against Kansas State with the Wildcats still leading in the overall series at 7-6

-The 21 kills by McCall marked the 14th straight match she has recorded double-digit kills. The streak is now ranked second all-time in double-digit kill matches to start a season and now just trails Anna Vaughn who has 15 to start the 2006 season.

-Anna Walsh put down 16 kills in the match to mark the 11th time in 2018 recording double-digit kills
-Lexi MacLean led the defense for the seventh time with 17 digs for her 10th double-digit dig match of the season
-Tori Dilfer dished out 50 assists to mark the fourth time in her career with 50+ assists in a match
-Berklie Baker finished with 10 digs for her seventh double-digit dig match of the season
-TCU served up six aces against Kansas State to mark the eighth time in 2018 with 5+ team service aces in a match

TCU returns home for two straight matches as the Frogs welcome Texas on Wednesday, Oct. 3 and then Texas Tech on Saturday, Oct. 6 at The Rickel inside the University Recreation Center. Both contests will air live on television with the match against the Longhorns to be broadcast on ESPNU and the match against the Red Raiders on FOX Sports Southwest Plus.
