GoFrogs: Van Lith Selected as Big 12 Co-Player of the Week
FORT WORTH – Hailey Van Lith can finally lay claim to the weekly All-Big 12 awards record book.
Already one of the most decorated players in college basketball, Van Lith was named Big 12 Co-Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Monday.
Van Lith carried No. 9 TCU to an 82-69 victory at Iowa State on Sunday, finishing with a season-high 28 points, eight assists and five rebounds.
She sparked a 13-2 run to open the game, scoring seven of TCU's first 13 points. The Cyclones cut a 13-point TCU lead down to one early in the third quarter. Van Lith netted nine points in the frame, helping the Horned Frogs (21-2, 9-1 Big 12) take a nine-point advantage into the final period. She tallied a team-high seven points in the fourth.
Van Lith's eight assists came against just one giveaway, marking the 11th time this season she has produced an assist-to-turnover of 2.5-or-better. She moved to seventh nationally in total assists (135).
TCU has now had three players win the award five times in 2024-25, the most of any program in the expanded 16-team league.
Van Lith becomes the seventh player in program history to receive the recognition. TCU has garnered the accolade on 16 occasions in its 13 seasons of conference membership.
