FORT WORTH – A trio of TCU baseball pitchers were drafted on the final day of the 2024 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Along with Payton Tolle's second round selection on Day 1, the Horned Frogs had four players drafted in 2024.

Zachary Cawyer was the first Horned Frog drafted, going to Kansas City with the second pick of the 11th round (317th overall). Caedmon Parker followed a few picks later in the 11th round (335th overall), going to the Milwaukee Brewers. Kyle Ayers was selected in the 13th round (494th overall) by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Cawyer put together a strong junior campaign in his lone season on campus. He ranked second on the team with 24 appearances, 23 of which came out of the bullpen. He posted a 6-2 record with a 5.20 ERA. In 36 1/3 innings of work, he fanned 39. At the conclusion of the season, he was named honorable mention All-Big 12.

Parker made a successful return to the mound after missing all of the 2023 campaign with an injury. He started four games as part of 17 appearances on the mound. Parker went 3-1 on the year with a 4.11 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 35 innings of work. Over the course of his career, Parker made 26 appearances with 11 starts. He was 5-3 with a 4.57 ERA and tallied 64 strikeouts in 61 innings of work.

Ayers made 10 appearances out of the bullpen before an injury brought his season to an end. He was 1-0 with 17 strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings of work.

Since Kirk Saarloos' arrival on campus prior to the 2013 season, TCU has had 68 draft picks by 22 different organizations. TCU has produced 27 Top 10 round draft picks, including three first round selections, in Saarloos' tenure.
