FORT WORTH – A record setting 3-point performance propelled the Horned Frogs to a 98-65 win over Louisiana Tuesday night inside Schollmaier Arena.

Senior guard Desmond Bane made a career-best seven of TCU's school record 18 3-pointers. Bane finished with a game-high 25 points.

The Frogs improved to 2-0 on the season, while the Ragin' Cajuns fell to 1-1.

Louisiana jumped out to an early first half lead, but TCU battled back and went on a 31-11 run in the final 11 minutes to take a commanding 52-38 lead. As a team, the Frogs shot 57.1 percent from beyond the arc in the first half as Bane and RJ Nembhard each scored 12 points.

The offense continued to roll in the second half. TCU extended its lead to 33, holding the Ragin' Cajuns scoreless in the final four minutes. The Frogs' defense improved in the second half, holding Louisiana to 31 percent shooting. Sophomore Kevin Samuel had six blocked shots, tying his career high and freshman guard PJ Fuller recorded four steals.

Four starters eclipsed the double-digit mark in scoring for TCU. Along with Bane, Nembhard scored a career-high 16 points, Fuller had 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Samuel notched his second straight double-double, finishing with 12 points and 12 boards. Seniors Edric Denis and Jaire Grayer contributed 14 and 11 points, respectively. Francisco Farabello scored his first collegiate points on a jumper in the first half. The freshman finished the game with five points and a career-high seven assists.

- The Horned Frogs improved to 2-0 for the sixth consecutive season.
- TCU improved to 2-1 all-time against Louisiana and 31-10 against Sun Belt opponents.
- TCU and Louisiana met for the first time since Dec. 9, 1969.
- The Frogs made 18 3-pointers, a record for the most threes in a game in program history. The old record was 17, which occurred twice. TCU had 17 against Grambling State on Dec. 30, 1999 and again at UNLV on March 13, 2008.
- TCU made 12 3-pointers in the first half, which tied for the most-ever by a Big 12 Conference team in a half. It was the sixth time that a team hit 12 in the first half. It last occurred on March 3, 2012, when Missouri made 12 3-pointers in the second half at Texas Tech.
- TCU was 18-of-38 from 3-point range, it was the second-most attempts by a TCU squad. The most was 39 against Houston on Feb. 1, 2003.
- TCU shot 51.5 percent from the field to improve to 38-4 when shooting 50 percent or better under Jamie Dixon.
- TCU's 98 points were its most in a game since it beat West Virginia 98-67 on Jan. 15, 2019, and its 33-point margin of victory was its largest at home since TCU beat Omaha 99-66 on Nov. 20, 2017.
- The Horned Frogs forced 20 turnovers for the second consecutive game.
- The Frogs recorded 10 steals, marking the 21st time in the Dixon era TCU reached double digits in steals. The Frogs are 18-3 in such games.
- Six Horned Frogs scored in double-figures, last occuring in the first round of the 2019 NIT against Sam Houston State on March 20, 2019.

Individual Notes
- Desmond Bane led the team for the second consecutive game to open the season, scoring 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and 7-of-13 shooting from beyond-the-arc.
- Bane's seven three-pointers made and 13 three-pointers attempted were both career highs.
- RJ Nembhard scored a career-high 16 points and added two steals, marking the sixth time in his career he has recorded multiple steals in a game.
- Kevin Samuel scored 12 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and swatted away six shots. He is currently the only player in the NCAA with multiple games of at least 12 rebounds and four blocks this season.
- Samuel's six blocks tied his career-high and moved him into seventh on the all-time blocked shots chart with 87 in his two-year career. He also had six blocks against Fresno State on Nov. 15, 2018.
- Samuel's double-double was his second of the season and sixth of his career..
- PJ Fuller scored 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting, and made his first two threes of his career on three attempts. and added four steals, all of which came in the first half.
- Francisco Farabello scored his first collegiate points on a jumper in the first half and ended with five points, seven assists and two steals.
- Edric Dennis finished with a game-high eight assists, the most of his career. His previous best was seven at North Carolina Central on Nov. 18, 2016 while playing for Jackson State.

Yeah, not sure how good ULL might be, but our guys looked sharp. Hoping we've got something to cheer is all up after football. Looks promising.
