GoFrogs: TCU Women's Tennis Sweeps Northwestern State

TCU women's tennis wrapped up their opening weekend on Saturday evening with another sweep. The Horned Frogs knocked off Northwestern State 6-0 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

The Frogs did not drop a set for the entirety of the match.

In doubles play, the duo of Helena Narmont and Yu-Chin Tsai made quick work, defeating Paige Wise and Sofia Garcia of Northwestern State 6-1. Seeing their first doubles action of the season, Destinee Martins and Margaret Polk knocked off Dorota Szczgielska and Renske Ubachs 6-2 to win the doubles point.

In singles, five Frogs saw action due to the match moving to indoors. Gr. senior Mercedes Aristegui continued her strong start to the season winning in straight sets two and zero. Narmont took down Garcia on the No. 4 court two and zero.

Sophomore Jade Otway did not give up a game in her first set going 6-0. She continued to control the match winning her second set 6-2. Freshman Tsai only gave up two total games in a 6-1, 6-1 rout of the Demons Szczygielska. Martins added a 6-2, 6-2 win versus Paige Wise to complete the Frogs' sweep over the Demons.

Up Next: TCU women's tennis will be back at home against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Feb. 4 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
