A product of Florence, Kentucky, Scherr was tabbed the 19th overall recruit and was a member of Campbell's No. 1 overall class in 2020. She repeated as Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year at Ryle High School in 2019 and 2020 and was honored as Kentucky Miss Basketball following her senior year.

Scherr is the third former Duck-turned-Horned Frog Campbell has signed. She was teammates with Sedona Prince in 2020-21 and shared the court with both Prince and Taylor Bigby the following season.

The signing of Scherr adds leadership and a postseason pedigree to the Horned Frogs' backcourt. She was a member of NCAA Tournament teams in both seasons at Oregon and started all three games in the Ducks' Sweet 16 run in 2020-21. Scherr, 5-10, has made 87 starts over 108 career games played. She has tallied 859 career points, 427 rebounds, 352 assists and 174 career steals.

She averaged 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game in 2023-24. Scherr dealt with multiple injuries but still stuffed the box score night-in and night-out. She scored in double figures 19 times, highlighted by four 20-plus point performances, and snagged five-or-more rebounds on 14 occasions. She led the Wildcats in assists and steals in 13 games.

Scherr's first season in her home state was nothing short of spectacular. She assumed primary ballhandling duties for the Wildcats and produced a stat line of 11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.1 blocks in 31.7 minutes per outing. Scherr concluded the 2022-23 campaign ranked fourth in the SEC in assists per game and steals (55) and was the conference leader in free throw percentage (.912).

Her offensive efficiency increased with each game she spent at the point guard position. Scherr doubled her scoring output in SEC play, increasing her points per game average from 7.3 in nonleague affairs to 14.9 in conference collisions.

She reached double figures in points in 19 games and reset her career high in points scored in four games, all of which were against top-25 teams. She netted a career-best 27 points vs. Tennessee on Feb. 26, 2023, and just six weeks removed from a 25-point performance vs. unanimous No. 1 South Carolina.

Scherr's second season at Oregon saw her start 28 of 31 games on a Ducks' squad that earned a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. She averaged 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per night and dished out a team-leading 102 assists.

She finished with six points and three steals in the Ducks' takedown of 10th-ranked Georgia to advance to the Sweet 16.

Scherr is basketball royalty within the Bluegrass State. She was a McDonald's All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic selection before both showcases were cancelled due to COVID-19 at the conclusion of her senior year. Scherr led Ryle HS to three straight state tournaments from 2018-20. As a senior, she averaged 14.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Scherr graduated as Ryle's all-time leader in scoring, rebounding and assists.

She will have one year to play one season at TCU.

Scherr is the second transfer guard whose signing TCU has publicized alongside Bigby. The Horned Frogs' 2024-25 roster now stands at nine players, with Scherr and Bigby joining returners Madison Conner, Agnes Emma-Nnopu, Knisha Godfrey and Una Jovanovic in the backcourt.
