Schedule Note
Please note that TCU's game scheduled for Dec. 29 against Tennessee State will be played at the University Rec Center.

The Opponent
Grambling State comes into Monday night's game with a 2-7 record after falling to Washington in its last outing, 86-38. Against the Huskies, A'Torri Shine scored a team-high 12 points on 5-of-15 from the field. He also grabbed five boards. The Tigers will be playing their third-straight road contest Monday, having played at Oregon State and at Washington, respectively.

On the season, Shine has carried the load, averaging 12.3 points per game and 3.0 boards. Chase Cormier is the only other GSU player to start every game this season.

The Series
TCU and Grambling State will be playing for the 12th time in school history Monday. The Frogs lead the all-time series, 11-0, having dropped GSU last season, 98-75.

The Holiday Season
Since the 2009-10 season, TCU has only lost one time in its final game prior to the holiday break. The lone setback came on the road at Houston in 2009-10. The Frogs are 4-0 in Fort Worth during that time.

Graduation Time
Both Amric Fields and Trey Zeigler graduated this past Saturday from TCU. Former Frog and current graduate assistant Thomas Montigel also received his diploma at Saturday's ceremony. Finally, third-year student manager Josh Priola received his degree Saturday morning.

Staggering D
Heading into Monday night, TCU has put up some eye-popping numbers nationally on the defensive end of the court. The Frogs rank in the top-20 in the NCAA in blocks per game (No. 11), field goal percentage defense (No. 8), rebounding margin (No. 12), scoring defense (No. 14) and total blocks (No. 9).

Chasing History
TCU moved to 11-0 on the season with its 88-57 victory over UTSA. In the Big 12 Conference, the Frogs need only two more wins to tie Oklahoma State for the 10th best start in league history. The Cowboys opened the 2001-02 season with a 13-0 record before falling.

History Lesson
The Frogs have now recorded their best start to a season since going 9-0 in 1997-98, which also happens to be the last time TCU made the NCAA Tournament. When broken down even further, the Purple and White had only recorded double-digit wins four times in program history before suffering their second loss of the season (1930-31: 12-1; 1951-52: 14-1; 1957-58: 10-1; 1997-98: 10-1). Heading into Monday, TCU was still one of only nine teams remaining in the NCAA who were undefeated on the year.

Time Machine
With polls set to be released Monday, TCU has a chance to jump into the top-25 for the first time since 1998-99. Heading into this last weekend, the Frogs were once again receiving votes in both national polls, marking the first time under head coach Trent Johnson the program has accomplished that feat. The last time the Horned Frogs were ranked or receiving votes came during the 1998-99 season when TCU was ranked as high as No. 21 nationally during the month of January. In the Big 12 Conference, seven of the 10 teams were ranked in the top 27 of the AP poll last week.

Sizzling December
Under head coach Trent Johnson, TCU has put together quite the resume during the month of December as the Frogs have only lost twice under Johnson's watch. The Purple and White have won 12-straight during the month, which dates back to the 2012-13 season. Overall, TCU is 12-2 during the month under Johnson with its only losses coming in back-to-back outings to Houston (Dec. 4) and at Tulsa (Dec. 8) in 2012.

Mr. Consistent
Senior Kyan Anderson has been almost perfect from the charity stripe this season, going 32-of-35 (.914) from the line. His only three misses came against Radford, McNeese State and UTSA. He currently ranks No. 1 in the Big 12 Conference and 16th nationally in free throw percentage.
