GoFrogs: TCU Records Second Straight Shutout

FORT WORTH -- TCU stretched its winning streak to three straight games with a 7-0 defeat of Dallas Baptist Wednesday night at Lupton Stadium. The pitching trio of Sean Wymer, Augie Mihlbauer and Cal Coughlin helped the Horned Frogs post their second straight shutout.

The Rundown
Sean Wymer (4-3) was brilliant over the course of six innings. He allowed just four hits and walked one batter. Twice Devlin Granberg opened an inning with a base hit and twice Wymer picked him off to minimize the Patriot threat.

Augie Mihlbauer came on in the seventh inning and shut the door, allowing just one infield single in two innings of work while striking out two. Cal Coughlin pitched around a pair of errors in the ninth to lock up the shutout.

Dallas Baptist mustered just five hits in the game and eight total baserunners, none of which reached third base.

TCU's offense came alive in the fifth inning as it broke through with the game's first run. Zach Humphreys opened the inning with a bunt single and moved to second on an errant throw. A bunt single from Connor Wanhanen put runners at the corners. Coby Boulware's second hit of the night gave TCU a 1-0 lead.

Three runs scored in the seventh as TCU's lead grew to 4-0. Josh Watson singled home Wanhanen for a 2-0 lead. A bases-loaded double play allowed Boulware to score and an error allowed the third run to score.

Another three runs crossed the plate in the eighth. A two-out walk to Wanhanen started the rally. After a walk to Boulware, Watson delivered a two-run triple and later scored on a Michael Landestoy base hit.
