TCU Ready To Run At USA Outdoor Championships
The Frogs will have three sprinters and a long jumper in Eugene.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
FORT WORTH, Texas – Four members of the TCU track & field program will compete in the senior section this week at the 2011 U.S.A. Track and Field Outdoor Championships held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, June 23-26.
The top three finishers in the senior sections will earn a spot on the U.S. Team for the IAAF World Championships held in Daegu, Korea, Aug. 27-Sept. 4.
Senior Jessica Young and sophomore Charles Silmon will sprint for Horned Frogs in the 100 and 200 meters, while senior Mychal Dungey is set to run the oval in the 400 meters. From the infield, junior Whitney Gipson will represent the Purple and White in the women's long jump. All four Frogs that are competing this weekend earned Mountain West gold in their respective events. Three of the four TCU athletes competed at the 2011 NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Four-time U.S. champion and TCU Letterman's Hall of Famer Khadevis Robinson will also compete this weekend in Eugene, running in the 800 meters.
