Nolan Traeger gave the Frogs some breathing room in the fifth with a two out, solo home run.
After San Diego got on the board in the seventh to make it a 3-1 game, the Frogs responded with a run in the eighth. Griffin led off the frame with a walk and moved to third on a one-out single from Isaac Cadena. Cole Cramer executed with a ground out to second to restore the three run lead, 4-1.
TCU broke the game open with a five spot in the ninth. The first six batters reached in the frame. Noah Franco led off the inning with a double. Pinch runner Jack Arthur scored easily on an Anthony Silva base hit. With the bases loaded, Jack Bell launched a grand slam to left to give the Frogs a 9-1 lead. San Diego scored a ninth inning run to account for the final score.
Mason Brassfield allowed a run on two hits in 2/3 of an inning. Kade Eudy took over with the bases loaded and two outs in the seventh. With one pitch, he was out of the inning. He finished the night with 1 1/3 scoreless. Cohen Feser gave up an unearned run in the ninth and struck out two.
