TCU In Striking Range At NCAA East Regional
Horned Frogs are just four strokes away from a coveted top-eight finish
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Led by Brooke Beeler's 71, TCU shot a 297 and sits just four strokes away from a coveted top-eight finish after Friday's second round of the NCAA East Regional. The top-eight teams will advance to the NCAA Championships May 18-21 in Bryan, Texas. The Horned Frogs are looking for their fifth-straight appearance at the national tourney. TCU is one of just seven programs to finish in the top 20 at the last four NCAA Championships.

The 32nd-ranked Horned Frogs improved their score by five strokes from Thursday's opening round and are in 12th place with a 599 through 36 holes. Florida sits eighth at 595.
TCU was led by its three All-Mountain West Conference selections in Beeler, Melissa Loh and Sanna Nuutinen.
Beeler birdied three of her final eight holes. She is tied for 33rd individually at 148.
Loh and Nuutinen recorded 75s.
Loh put together 13 consecutive birdies in one stretch. Nuutinen, the MWC Freshman of the Year, birdied three consecutive holes, her second through fourth holes of the day, en route to four birdies in the opening eight holes.
Rachel Raastad was 1 under over her final 13 holes in posting a 76 for the Horned Frogs.
Alabama's Stephanie Meadow is atop the individual leader board with a 6-under 138, two strokes ahead of Michigan State's Caroline Powers.
Top-seed and No. 3 Alabama holds the team lead with a 5-under 571. No. 15 North Carolina is four shots back with a 575.
