GoFrogs: TCU Excels in All Three Phases in a 59-23 win at Kansas
LAWRENCE, Kan. - TCU started fast, building a 24-0 first-quarter lead, and rolled to a 59-23 victory over Kansas on Saturday night in Lawrence, Kan.

The Horned Frogs scored on their first three offensive possessions and then added a special teams touchdown and two defensive scores.

The Horned Frogs won on the road for the third time in four games this season.

TCU ran for a season-high 337 yards and is now 4-0 this season when rushing for at least 200. True freshman Zach Evans, making his first career start, had his first 100-yard game with 100 yards on 12 carries. Darwin Barlow added 83 yards, including a 1-yard scoring run.

TCU established its run game early, rushing the ball on its first seven plays en route to taking a 3-0 lead on the game's opening possession. A Griffin Kell 39-yard field goal capped a 9-play, 53-yard drive.

TCU had back-to-back 3-play touchdown drives, covering 45 and 74 yards, to extend its lead to 17-0 with exactly six minutes to play in the first quarter.

The Horned Frogs went up 10-0 when Max Duggan connected with a wide open Pro Wells in the end zone on a 46-yard touchdown pass. On TCU's next series, Duggan hit Carter Ware for a 26-yard touchdown catch.

Derius Davis' 37-yard punt return for a touchdown made it a 24-0 game with 3:49 to play in the first quarter. It was the second punt return score of the season for Davis and the third of his career on just 11 attempts. He is now tied for second in TCU history with three punt return touchdowns.

Duggan tied a career high with his third touchdown pass, a 24-yard strike to Wells to make it a 31-6 game with 8:56 left in the second quarter.

Duggan's 58-yard scoring run, his team-best seventh rushing touchdown of the season, gave TCU a 38-6 lead.

TCU's last two touchdowns came on the defensive end via a C.J. Ceasar 30-yard interception return and a Dee Winters 2-yard fumble recovery after Ochaun Mathis stripped the ball.
