TUCSON, Ariz. – TCU scored early and often en route to a 13-6 win over No. 24 Arizona in the series finale at Hi Corbett Field. Karson Bowen drove in five as part of a three hit game, while Colton Griffin tied a single-game school record with three doubles and drove in four.
The Rundown
After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the first, the Horned Frogs responded with two in the second. Walks to Nolan Traeger and Isaac Cadena had two on with one out. Colton Griffin ripped a double to right for a 2-1 lead.
TCU and Arizona traded runs in the third. Sawyer Strosnider drew a lead-off walk and moved to third on a one-out double from Noah Franco. Chase Brunsonmade it a 3-1 game with a ground out to drive in Strosnider. Arizona used smallball in the bottom of the frame to make it a 3-2 contest.
The Frogs restored its two-run lead in the fourth. With a runner on second, Karson Bowen lined a single into center for a 4-2 lead.
In the fifth, the Frogs batted around and scored five times to open a 9-2 lead. With the bases loaded, Silva bounced a single through the left side to drive in two. Griffin's second double of the game with two outs plated one, followed by a two-run single from Bowen.
TCU responded to an Arizona run in the sixth with a two-out run in the seventh. Griffin's third double of the game drove in pinch runner Sam Myers to make it a 10-3 ballgame.
Arizona put up three in the seventh, but the Frogs had another response in the form of three runs in the ninth to put the game out of reach. Myers picked up an RBI single and Bowen capped his three hit afternoon with a two-run single to make it 13-6.
Mason Brassfield (5-1) went 5 1/3 innings allowing three runs on three hits, walked three and struck out five. Kole Klecker was touched for a trio of runs (two earned) in his 1 1/3 innings. Louis Rodriguez retired the only batter he faced in the seventh. Cohen Feser and Kade Eudy each tossed a scoreless inning to close out the game.

With the win, TCU improves to 33-15 overall and 15-9 in league play. TCU returns to Lupton Stadium for its final home series of the regular season starting Friday night when it hosts Cincinnati. First pitch for Friday's opener is set for 6 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
