GoFrogs: TCU Cruises Past Oklahoma, 86-71

FORT WORTH, Texas – A 25-point, 14-rebound performance from Jordan Moore and career night from Lauren Heard paced the TCU women's basketball team, as it led wire-to-wire in an 86-71 victory over Oklahoma on Wednesday night at Schollmaier Arena.

Moore notched her fourth double-double of the season and Heard tied her personal bests with 18 points, six assists, and three 3-pointers.

Amy Okonkwo and Jayde Woods also finished in double-figures with 16 and 10 points, respectively.

With the win over the Sooners (5-12, 1-5 Big 12), the Horned Frogs (13-5, 3-4) are now an impressive 11-1 at home this season.

The Rundown
The Horned Frogs led from start-to-finish for the fourth time this season. They hit four of their first five 3-pointers and jumped out to a quick 18-6 advantage just over five minutes into the contest.

TCU shot a cool 50.0 percent in the first half en route to taking a 39-24 lead into the locker room at the break.

Moore and Heard combined for 17 points in the third quarter alone as the Frogs ballooned their lead to as many as 19 at the 4:48 mark. The Sooners rallied to within seven in the early moments of the final frame, but that is as close as they would get.

TCU forced Oklahoma to commit 21 turnovers, leading to 29 points, and outscored the Sooners in the paint, 40-30. The Frogs' 86 points were their most in a Big 12 opponent since they defeated Oklahoma 90-83 last year in the Big 12 Championship.

Stat of the Day
20 –
TCU made a season-high 20 free throws on 24 attempts, for an 83.3 percentage, their second-best effort from the charity stripe this season. Seven different players made at least one free throw, led by five from Jordan Moore and a perfect 4-for-4 effort by Jayde Woods.

Quote of the Day
TCU Head Coach Raegan Pebley

"I'm proud of our team. We talked a lot about not getting caught up in the highs and the lows of the season and what did happen. We talked about locking in on the game today, the preparation today, the practice today. I feel like that is helping us persevere through a tough (conference) start. I think OU has had one of the toughest non-conference and conference schedule so far. They've had one home game in conference play so far. They are a young team that is going to continue to get better, but I'm really proud of our team and how we changed defense, how we took care of the ball and how we created points off our defense."

Up Next
The Horned Frogs will remain at home and host the Kansas Jayhawks on Sunday at 12 p.m. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Southwest.
