B12 admits it was an error?

That would be amazing...and not gonna happen.
I’m talking about the fact that there seemed to be a misunderstanding about the ump assuming Saarloos was complaining when he was motioning for an intentional walk. Besides it is in the B12’s best interest to have all its teams at full power in the NCAA tournament.

The suspension is because he argued the ejection. Doesn’t matter if the ejection is right or wrong

h. No team personnel may continue to argue or to continue to excessively express themselves with prolonged actions or offensive language after an ejection.

PENALTY for h—An additional two-game suspension.

I was there. He went out there to explain his intent, they refused to listen, and just started escorting him away. I know some seem to support umpire authority to the bitter end, but this one looked like BS to me

It was 100% BS but even if the ejection was admitted to be BS, he’d still be subject to this stupid rule because he argued the BS ejection.

That said…I was there too and he was much more animated then just explaining his intent and being escorted away. Personally I think the second base ump should be suspended for the remainder of this season and part of next for grabbing him.

Like my buddy said today about the umpire touching Saarloos "rules for thee, not for me."

No question he had earlier been worked up over the balk and went too far. My only concern is that, even in the videos, after being tossed, as he approaches the umpire from the dugout, he is repeating the home to first base hand motion and looks to be saying the same thing- that he was merely motioning an intentional walk. As he approaches the umpire he is very upset presumably because they would not listen. At that point an umpire held up two fingers (presumably two games). If they had just listened, then suspended him two games, I would have no concerns.

He had already been ejected before he went toward home plate. Once he did that instead of leaving the field he was gonna be subjected to that rule. It’s 100% stupid but hey….NCAA is shorthand for stupid

Yea, it’s my understanding that he was ejected for whatever the umpire perceived he was saying and signaling from the dugout. This came after the balk argument so the umpire was loaded for bear. Then I think it went to two games as he tried to explain about the intentional walk signal, which they wouldn’t let him do which made him upset. Just how I saw it but could be all wrong.
