Their relief pitchers throw strikes. Ours walk into the game as nervous wrecks. Both of our starters left the game with a lead and our BP gave it up. We also have 3 errors this game. When we scored 4 we had a runner on third and one out. We could not drive him in. Sad.
Saw a suicide squeeze tonight by LSU, it was the winning run. BM would rather lose than admit bunting can work. (I did not see TCU game tonight).

Bunting - or a lack of it - is not our issue

We don’t put the ball in play when we need to as you can see by our avg with RISP and our strike out rate with RISP

Plus for some reason have started making defensive mistakes at the wrong times since the team swept Kansas

I was at the game last night. First time I’ve seen them play and haven’t really followed closely this year. Issues IMHO:
1. Not well coached defensively. Mental and physical errors. 2 unearned runs and 3 errors is not sustainable against quality opponents.
2. Don’t like our approach at the plate. Apparently take 1 strike, then big swings regardless of count. 7 hits iirc and 3 of them were well placed bloopers. Maybe only 5-6 well hit balls. Way too many Ks

Not optimistic for post season, but perhaps bats will get hot. Need a live chicken, some rum for jobu, and perhaps a rain out to mix movie references

Since you were there what happened on the hit to right that somehow ended up with an overthrow of the second baseman.

Also in the ninth how did Myers not score from first on Bowen's two out double?

Over threw the ball back to infield (to second) I think. That one’s a bit fuzzy. But we threw it all over the yard like a little league team a couple of times. Held at third was the right call he would have been meat at the dish had he sent him. Ball was basically back to cutoff man as he was rounding third. But I think that was the eighth? Didn’t know the was going to be a quiz ;-)

The ESPN+ feed cutout in the bottom of the eighth and Chuck is kind of hazy at times on what is happening at times.

It's too bad Strosnider got hit with ball four in the ninth or the game would have been tied.
